The countdown has begun!

Unjani, (isizulu for hello)

Well, I should say it began over a year ago when Brian had the notion of going to World Cup in 2010 in South Africa. The Loschky's immediately said "we're in". Actually I think Mark said yes the instant the words were out of Brian's mouth. LOL Then came Dianne, who has been to South Africa a few times, offering to show them her beloved Africa. So the seven of us: Brian and Jared McInnes, Mark, Leimomi, Kekoa, and Nainoa Loschky, and Dianne Uplinger are all going to board a plane on the morning of June 24th and head to Johannesburg for World Cup 2010!

To say we are excited is an understatement. We will have a busy 2 weeks in the southern hemisphere where cars and toilets flush the opposite direction. We will be going to Round 16 games and a semi final game(can anyone say SCORE!) and doing a safari to see the animals, learning to drive on the wrong side of the road (watch out for Brian!)....but the biggest and best thing is that we will be running a soccer camp along with our friends in Loskop for 360 elementary kids for three days! I'm a little tired just thinking about it! We will be updating the blog throughout our trip and posting pictures of the most amazing kids doing what they love to do...play soccer.

A few weeks ago we sent out a fundraising letter and the response was amazing and humbling. We not only raised our goal of $2000.00 but exceeded it...because of your generosity. We will be posting a list of where the money went...most of it to the soccer camp, but some will go to an orphanage that Dianne works with in Loskop.

We are just four weeks from departure and there is a lot to do...mostly packing. The boys (Jared, Nainoa, and Kekoa) are excited about meeting their teammates for the soccer tournament. Check back here for all the news of the Loskop World Cup 2010.
Cheers!
